How Artyfile Stream pays artists

• A stream is a play of at least 15 seconds. Skipping earlier costs the listener nothing and pays nothing; a long track counts once, like a short one.
• Every subscription has its own artist pool. On the Standard plan (€19.90 a month, 500 streams) it is €12.00; €4.00 covers the platform and €3.90 goes to VAT and payment processing.
• The pool is shared only among the recordings that subscriber played that month (user-centric). None of it goes to music the subscriber did not hear.
• Each counted stream pays at least €0.03: €0.02 for the master recording and €0.01 for songwriting and publishing. If a heavy listener’s pool is not enough, Artyfile pays the difference.
• There is no minimum number of streams before a recording is paid.

The fewer streams a subscriber uses, the more each one is worth — the whole pool still goes to what they played. The table shows a Standard subscriber at different levels of listening.

Take a track released through Artyfile for Artists that is streamed 1,000 times in a quarter, all at the guaranteed minimum. The master share is 1,000 × €0.02 = €20.00; Artyfile for Artists keeps its flat 15% commission (€3.00) and the artist receives €17.00. The songwriting and publishing share of 1,000 × €0.01 = €10.00 is paid to the songwriters and publishers; Artyfile does not take a commission on it. Streams from subscribers who listen less pay more per stream.

For comparison: on Spotify a track with fewer than 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months is not included in the recording royalty calculation at all.

Most large services pay pro rata: all subscription money in a market goes into one pot and is divided by share of total streams. None of them pays a guaranteed amount per stream. Published figures differ in what they measure, so read them as orders of magnitude:

Artyfile Stream plays recordings produced by Artyfile and recordings released through Artyfile for Artists at artists.artyfile.com. Releasing costs a one-time €9.90 per track or €39 for an album of up to 10 tracks — no subscription. You keep 100% of your master rights; Artyfile takes a flat 15% of the revenue it generates for you (streaming payouts through Artyfile channels, sync licences, Fan Limited Edition sales) and never touches songwriting or publishing income.

You choose the channels per release: Artyfile Stream, the Artyfile sync marketplace and worldwide distribution to more than 150 platforms. Ownership is non-exclusive; while a track is active with Artyfile, its streaming distribution runs through Artyfile. Every submission is reviewed by Artyfile’s A&R team, and AI-generated music is not accepted.

If you switch it on, fans can buy up to 20 numbered 1% shares of a track’s master rights at €69.90 each, recorded in Artyfile’s ownership register with a personal certificate — no blockchain, no wallets. You receive 85% of every share sale and always keep at least 80% of the master and every creative and business decision. It is a separate sale: it does not change the per-stream payout above. Shares are sold on artyfile.com/editions, and holders see their editions in the Owner’s Lounge in the app.

The rules above are those of the Artyfile terms: §5.4 (the remuneration model of Artyfile Stream: €4.00 platform, €12.00 artist pool, minimum €0.03 per stream split €0.02 master and €0.01 PRO/publisher) and §6 (Artyfile for Artists: fees, 15% commission, rights retention, Fan Limited Editions). A stream is counted by the web player and the apps after 15 seconds of continuous playback; plays of your own uploads in My Music are never counted and never paid from the pool.

The €12.00 pool is defined for the Standard plan; for Small (€9.90) and Medium (€14.90) the guaranteed minimum of €0.03 per counted stream applies. The worked examples divide the Standard pool by the number of streams and apply that minimum. Figures for other services are their own published statements or, where marked, third-party estimates; each is linked below with the date we read it.
